Vero Beach Near Top of Coastal Living magazine’s List of America’s Happiest Seaside Towns.

Coastal Living recently announced its 2018 choices for America’s Happiest Seaside Towns, and it’s no surprise to residents of Orchid Island that their local town of Vero Beach was recognized near the top of the list. Holding the number 4 spot, Vero Beach received high praise for its small-town atmosphere with a modern feeling, its natural beauty and its full roster of activities.

Known for establishing the high-end, jet-setting lifestyle that Florida is recognized for, Vero Beach is host to championship golf, historic architecture, luxury hotels and private clubs. Residents of Orchid Island enjoy playing world-class golf on the Audubon-certified, Arnold Palmer-designed course or searching for classic fashion brands and local art pieces in Downtown Vero.

Through careful conservation efforts, the natural wonders of Vero Beach are preserved for generations to enjoy. The blissful absence of high-rise buildings grants the residents of Vero Beach unobstructed views of the clear blue waters, and private beaches abound for relaxation without the crowds. It’s not unusual to run across the local wildlife—residents advise to keep an eye out for sea turtles, river otters, white pelicans and even ospreys as you go about your day.

Anyone feeling hungry? Vero Beach offers some of the best dining options on the East Coast. From formal beachside dinners to quaint downtown brunches, there’s something to suit everyone’s palate. Stop by Ocean Grille for dinner and trust us, you won’t want to skip the Key Lime Pie for dessert. Residents of Orchid Island also have many on-site dining options. Whether it’s at the Beach Club or the Golf Club, the world-class chef is always cooking up something new and delicious for the menu.

All of this is not to mention the abundance of arts and culture right in our backyard. Check out Riverside Theatre or the Vero Beach Museum of Art. Both have tons of scheduled events you won’t want to miss.

Members of Orchid Island are even luckier still to call this amazing place home. Having served members and their families for over 25 years, this private community is committed to providing a level of service that stands out from the rest. Golfing here is unparalleled, as the Arnold Palmer-designed 18-hole course not only is renowned among courses but also holds Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status for its commitment to natural preservation. The recently renovated Beach Club serves as a gathering place for families and friends to reunite. Private club events and holiday gatherings are held in the dining room, and families enjoy beachside service as they have fun in the sun along the Atlantic Ocean. Residents even have their choice of beach to enjoy, with the Club hosting over a mile of private beachfront. Orchid Island stretches from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the Indian River.
